What is PatternFast?

PatternFast is a professional-grade fashion design and development platform that empowers fashion brands, manufacturers, indie designers, and schools to create instantly manufacturable, standard-sized and custom-fit designs.

It combines AI-driven tools, rapid pattern drafting, automatic grading, and tech pack generation—all in one seamless web-based system.

Who is PatternFast for?

PatternFast is built for independent designers and small studios, fashion brands and product teams, manufacturers who produce for several brands, and fashion schools.

Solo plans suit one person working alone or for clients. Team plans add seats and a shared workspace. Enterprise is for large teams that need a dedicated deployment, SSO and integrations.

How can I request a demo?

Demos are for larger companies and enterprise teams. Fill in the Request a demo form and we'll get back to you to book a time. You can also request a proof of concept: a pilot on one of your own product categories, with your fit charts and clear deliverables.

If you're an independent designer or a small team, start a 3-day free trial instead and try your plan with its full AI credits.

Can I use PatternFast if I’m an independent designer or student?

Yes. Solo Indie ($99/month) is made for independent designers: one seat, one brand profile, standard and custom fit charts, tech packs and 1,200 AI credits a month. Solo Pro adds a second brand profile, design requests and production tools — useful if you design for clients.

Students get Solo Indie for $49/month with 600 AI credits. Sign up with your school email address to get the student price.

How do I start a new design on PatternFast?

Create a collection and add a style to it. Start from a sketch or reference image with Sketch-to-Pattern AI, or build the garment from pattern components yourself.

PatternFast generates the pattern, grades it to your size chart and prepares the tech pack from the same style.

Can I save and organize my designs?

Yes. Work is organised by brand profile, then by collection and style. Each style keeps its dossier, assets, patterns and tech pack together, so nothing gets lost in folders.

If you work for several brands or clients, give each its own brand profile so their fit charts and standards stay separate.

Do I need advanced pattern-making skills to use PatternFast?

No. AI turns your sketch into a flat pattern, grading is automatic, and you can start from suggested size chart templates, so you get to a production-ready pattern without drafting by hand.

If you are a pattern maker, you keep full control: review the fit, adjust pieces and fine-tune markers before you export.

Does PatternFast support sustainable fashion practices?

Yes, in practical ways. Visualization and fit review let you check a design before cutting a physical sample, so fewer samples are made and thrown away. The Marker tool arranges pattern pieces automatically for efficient fabric use and less waste.

Patterns graded to your own fit charts also mean fewer rounds of fit corrections.

How is PatternFast different from other design software?

Most tools cover one step: a sketching app, a CAD system for patterns, a separate file for the tech pack. PatternFast connects concept, pattern, grading, marker and tech pack in one workflow, all built from the same style.

The AI produces manufacturable patterns, not just images, and it works with your existing CAD, PLM and fit charts — no need to replace the tools you already use.

Platform Features

Can I collaborate with other team members on a single design?

Yes, on Team plans. Starter, Studio and Business give you several seats in one shared workspace, so everyone works on the same collections and styles. Comments keep feedback attached to the style, and roles (Owner, Admin, Member) control who can do what.

Can I collaborate with my team in real time?

Your team works in one shared, cloud-based workspace, so everyone sees the same collections, styles and latest changes without sending files back and forth. Comments let you discuss a style right where the work is.

Team features are available from the Starter plan (3 seats) and up.

Can I export tech packs and patterns?

Yes. Patterns export as DXF (AAMA/ASTM) and PLT, ready for your pattern room and cutting equipment. Tech packs and production documents export as PDF and XLSX, and markers are made from the same style.

What if my fit chart is custom?

That's fine — custom fit charts are included on every plan. Add your own size and fit charts once, and patterns are graded to them every time. Each brand profile can keep its own charts.

What garment types are supported?

You can design womenswear, menswear and kidswear — for girls, boys, junior girls and junior boys.

Womenswear has the widest range: tops, T-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, jumpsuits, dresses, skirts and pants. For men, there are tank tops, T-shirts, shirts and pants. Girls' and junior girls' styles cover tank tops, tops, T-shirts, sweatshirts, dresses, skirts and pants, while boys' and junior boys' styles cover tank tops, T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts and pants.

We add new garment types regularly. Missing something you need? Let us know.

How do I customize fit charts?

Start from a suggested size chart template or create your own, then set the measurements and size range to match your brand. Once a chart is saved to a brand profile, patterns are graded to it automatically, and you choose which sizes to export.

How do I apply different fabrics to my design?

Pick fabrics from the Fabrics & Trims library or add your own, and define their properties, textures and behaviour. When you visualize a design, you control the materials to see how it looks in different fabrics, colours and prints.

How do I generate a tech pack for my design?

Open the style and generate its tech pack. It is built from the same style data — measurements, construction details, materials and production notes — so it stays in step with your pattern.

Solo Pro and higher plans add BOM, costing and manufacturer briefs. Export the result as PDF or XLSX.

What’s the difference between MTM and standard sizing on PatternFast?

Standard sizing grades a pattern across a size range from your size chart, for ready-to-wear production. MTM (made-to-measure) builds the pattern from one person's own measurements, for a custom fit.

PatternFast supports both from the same style, so you can offer a standard range and custom-fit orders side by side.

Integrations

Is PatternFast cloud-based?

Yes. PatternFast runs in your web browser with nothing to install, and your work is saved in the cloud, so you can open it from any desktop or laptop. Enterprise customers can get a dedicated, single-tenant deployment.

Is PatternFast compatible with other industry tools?

Yes. PatternFast works alongside your CAD, PLM and existing fit charts, including tools such as CLO, Optitex, Browzwear and Alvanon. Patterns export as DXF (AAMA/ASTM) and PLT, documents as PDF and XLSX.

Enterprise plans add integrations, API access and SSO.
